KILASTOTABUAN.COM, JAKARTA — Amerika Serikat menawarkan imbalan US$10 juta atau setara Rp143 miliar bagi pihak yang dapat memberikan informasi terkait kelompok kriminal siber DarkSide. FBI melaporkan bahwa DarkSide berbasis di Rusia.
“Dalam penawaran hadiah ini, AS menyampaikan komitmennya untuk melindungi korban ransomware di dunia yang dieksploitasi oleh kelompok kriminal siber,” demikian pernyataan Kementerian Luar Negeri AS, Jumat (5/11).
Biro Investigasi Federal AS (FBI) menyatakan bahwa DarkSide melakukan serangan siber terhadap sistem pipa minya AS, Colonial Pipeline, pada Mei lalu.
Akibatnya, pasokan minyak di kawasan tenggara AS tersendat selama berhari-hari. Harga minyak pun melonjak, memicu fenomena panic buying.
Colonial Pipeline kemudian menyatakan membayar peretas sekitar US$ 5 juta dalam bentuk bitcoin untuk mendapatkan kembali akses ke sistemnya. Juni lalu, Kementerian Kehakiman AS lantas memulihkan sekitar US$2,3 juta dari uang tebusan itu.
Pada Juli, Kemlu AS juga pernah menawarkan hadiah hingga US$10 juta bagi yang mengetahui informasi mengenai pelaku aktivitas siber berbahaya terhadap infrastruktur penting Washington.
Di bulan yang sama, Toshiba juga mengaku menjadi korban peretasan DarkSide. Insiden itu menyebabkan sebagian kecil data perusahaan bernilai US$23 miliar hilang.
Tangkapan layar Darkside yang disampaikan perusahaan keamanan siber menunjukkan lebih dari 740 gigabyte informasi telah disusupi, termasuk mengenai paspor.
Menurut pengamat malware, ada sekitar 30 kelompok dalam Darkside yang mencoba meretas perusahaan. Sementara itu,perusahaan lebih rentan terhadap serangan siber sejak penerapan bekerja dari rumah. (*)
