KILASTOTABUAN.COM, JAKARTA — Konsulat Jenderal Republik Indonesia (KJRI) Hong Kong membenarkan seorang TKI, Yayu Masih, telah divonis 20 tahun 3 bulan penjara karena kasus narkoba.
KJRI menuturkan saat ini pihaknya masih mendampingi Yayu yang tengah mengajukan banding.
“KJRI terus mendukung hak yang bersangkutan untuk melakukan banding. Semua informasi yg dapat digunakan untuk banding saat ini masih disusun oleh pengacara dengan dukungan KJRI agar upaya banding dapat optimal,” bunyi pernyataan KJRI Hong Kong saat dikonfirmasi CNNIndonesia.com pada Selasa (11/1).
KJRI Hong Kong memaparkan sudah 4 kali mendampingi Yayu dalam persidangan sejak TKI asal Indramayu, Jawa Barat, itu ditangkap pada 2019 lalu.
Selain pendampingan, KJRI Hong Kong menuturkan secara berkala membesuk Yayu dan WNI lain yang berada di penjara untuk memastikan kondisi kesehatan dan hak-hak dasar mereka terpenuhi.
Sebelumnya, Serikat Buruh Migran Indonesia (SBMI) Cabang Indramayu, Jawa Barat, mengatakan pihaknya mendapat aduan terkait kasus hukum yang menjerat Yayu dari pihak keluarga.
Yayu telah dijatuhkan vonis hukum 20 tahun penjara pada Agustus 2021 lalu. Ia ditangkap kepolisian Hong Kong sejak 2019.
Menurut Ketua SBMI Cabang Indramayu, Juwarih, narkoba itu bukan milik Yayu, tetapi milik rekannya yang juga berasal dari Indonesia.
Juwarih menyatakan KJRI Hong Kong mengetahui sejak lama soal kasus Yayu. Perwakilan mereka bahkan kerap membesuk perempuan tersebut.
Namun, karena bukan kasus yang berkaitan dengan ketenagakerjaan dengan majikan, kata Juwarih, KJRI Hong Kong tak bisa membantu. (*)
