KILASTOTABUAN.COM, JAKARTA – Pelaku penembakan yang menewaskan sepuluh orang di Boulder, Colorado, Amerika Serikat ternyata adalah seorang lelaki pendatang dari Suriah.
Dilansir Reuters, Rabu (24/3), kepolisian setempat menyatakan pelaku bernama Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa berusia 21 tahun. Dia menjadi penduduk AS dengan cara naturalisasi.
Sampai saat ini para penegak hukum belum bisa membeberkan motif penembakan itu.
“Masih terlalu dini bagi kami untuk menarik kesimpulan pemicu kejadian itu saat ini,” kata seorang agen Biro Penyelidik Federal AS (FBI) di Kantor Wilayah Denver, Michael Schneider.
Insiden penembakan yang dilakukan Ahmad di swalayan King Sooper itu menewaskan sepuluh orang, termasuk seorang polisi.
Para korban meninggal itu adalah seorang polisi bernama Eric Talley (51), Denny Stong (20), Neven Stanisic (23), Rikki Olds (25), Tralona Bartkowiak (49), Suzanne Fountain (59), Teri Leiker (51), Kevin Mahoney (61), Lynn Murray (62), dan Jody Waters (65).

Menurut keterangan polisi, Ahmad diyakini melakukan perbuatan itu seorang diri. Dia menggunakan senapan semi-otomatis Ruger AR-556 berkapasitas 30 peluru yang dibeli ada 16 Maret lalu.
Ahmad menggunakan senjata api itu untuk menembaki orang-orang di swalayan tersebut.
Ahmad, kata polisi, sempat diobati karena terluka akibat kontak senjata dengan polisi pada betis kanan. Dia lalu dibawa ke kantor polisi usai lukanya dijahit.
Menurut keterangan polisi, Talley adalah polisi yang pertama tiba di lokasi kejadian dan tewas dalam baku tembak dengan pelaku. Padahal menurut orang tua mendiang, Talley sudah berencana mengundurkan diri dari polisi karena ingin mempunyai pekerjaan yang tidak membahayakan, serta bisa lebih banyak menghabiskan dengan istri dan ketujuh anaknya.
Di sisi lain, sejumlah peristiwa penembakan dengan korban cukup besar beberapa kali terjadi di Colorado. Antara lain penembakan di bioskop Aurora pada 2012 dan penembakan di SMU Columbine dekat Littleton pada 1999 silam.
Gubernur Colorado, Jared Polis, menyatakan turut berduka cita untuk para korban. (*)
