KILASTOTABUAN.COM, JAKARTA — Arab Saudi berencana mengganti undang-undang (UU) yang mengatur bendera nasional mereka, di mana bendera itu bertuliskan kalimat syahadat.
Kepala Komite Dewan Syura Kerajaan, Mayor Jenderal Ali M Al-Asiri, mengatakan amendemen ini dilakukan untuk menyatukan peraturan terkait penggunaan bendera, lambang, dan lagu kebangsaan Arab Saudi, dikutip dari Arab News.
Selain itu, pemerintah ingin memberikan definisi lebih jelas terkait penggunaan lambang negara dan meningkatkan kesadaran publik terkait pentingnya lambang negara.
Pemerintah Arab Saudi juga ingin melindungi lambang negara dari penghinaan dan pengabaian.
Al-Asiri mengatakan, amendemen ini bakal membantu “mengisi celah legislatif lagu kebangsaan, dengan sikap yang memastikan terciptanya sumber legislatif jelas dan sesuai, dan kerangka kerja khusus untuk setiap amandemen di masa depan.”
Amendemen tersebut juga akan memperkuat perlindungan bagi bendera Arab Saudi, dengan keberadaan kerangka kerja resmi terkait penggunaannya.
Perubahan undang-undang ini disetujui sepekan setelah polisi Saudi menangkap empat pria Bangladesh karena diduga membuang bendera nasional ke tempat sampah.
Selain menghina negara, tindakan itu dinilai menghina Islam lantaran ada kalimat syahadat yang sakral tertera di bendera Saudi.
Sejak 1973, bendera Saudi berwarna hijau dengan lambang kalimat syahadat yang ditulis dalam kaligrafi huruf Arab putih.
Kalimat syahadat sendiri berbunyi “Tidak ada Tuhan selain Allah, Nabi Muhammad adalah utusan Allah” lengkap dengan gambar pedang putih di bawahnya. (*)
