KILASTOTABUAN.COM, JAKARTA — Turki mencatat rekor harian Covid-19 sejak pandemi menyerang, dengan 77.772 kasus pada Kamis (13/1). Sementara angka kematian bertambah 145 jiwa.
Jumlah ini melebihi rekor sebelumnya pada April 16 lalu, dengan 63.083 kasus.
Kasus harian Covid-19 di Turki melonjak empat kali lipat dalam sebulan terakhir. Angka rawat inap juga mengalami kenaikan sebesar 10 persen diduga karena varian virus corona Omicron.
Jumlah angka kematian sejauh ini belum melonjak di Turki, meskipun ada peningkatan kasus harian.
Lonjakan kasus harian di negara itu, tetap membuat Menteri Kesehatan Turki, Fahretiin Koca, percaya diri soal tingkat rawat inap akibat terpapar varian Omicron yang akan lebih rendah.
“Kami melihat lebih banyak rawat inap dengan angka kasus lebih rendah di periode pandemi sebelumnya. Sepertinya varian Omicron akan mengurangi bahaya pandemi,” kata Koca seperti dikutip Reuters.
Hingga kini, menurut data Newsnodes, kasus varian Omicron di Turki mencapai 252 kasus dan belum melaporkan kematian akibat terinfeksi varian ini.
Koca juga menyarankan mereka yang punya riwayat kontak erat dengan pasien positif Covid-19 tak perlu melakukan tes PCR, hanya butuh lebih lama menjalani isolasi.
Mereka yang bisa dites PCR, lanjut Koca, hanya mereka yang memiliki gejala Covid-19.
Sejauh ini total kasus Covid-19 di Turki mencapai 10,2 juta kasus dan 84.278 kematian.
Sementara itu untuk tingkat vaksinasi, penduduk yang sudah diinokulasi lengkap mencapai 67 persen atau sekitar 57 juta jiwa, dan yang baru menerima satu dosis 61 persen atau kisaran 51 juta jiwa. (*)
